Staff for the Sousou no Frieren (Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End) TV anime confirmed this week that it has been green-lit for a second season. A teaser video and teaser visual for the second season have also been released.

The anime’s first season, directed by Saitou Keiichirou at Madhouse studio, premiered on September 29th, 2023. The anime ran until March 2024, and all 28 episodes can be streamed on Crunchyroll.

The anime is based on the Sousou no Frieren manga by Yamada Kanehito and Abe Tsukasa. Yamada and Abe started the ongoing manga in April 2020 in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shounen Sunday magazine, and Shogakukan published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in August 2020. The latest volume to be released was number 13 in April 2024. The manga went on hiatus in May 2024 and returned in August 2024.
