The official website for the Seihantaina Kimi to Boku (You and I Are Polar Opposites) TV anime, set to premiere in January 2026, has released its first promotional video and visual and confirmed the name for some of the anime’s staff.

Nagatomo Takayoshi is directing the anime at Lapin Track, and Utsumi Teruko will write the script and also work as an animation producer. Miyako Mako is designing the characters, and Kozono Naho is the sub-character designer. Both Kazono Naho and Sakimoto Sayuri are chief animation directors.
Nakamura Cheiko is the art director and Shiokawa Tomoyuki is the director of photography. Akimoto Yuki is in charge of colour design, Koshida Yuushi is in charge of 3DGG, and Osakabe Wataru handles the 2D design. Kurosawa Masayuki is the editor.
The anime is based on the Seihantaina Kimi to Boku (You and I Are Polar Opposites) romance manga by Agasawa Koucha. Manga author Agasawa (Koori no Jyouheki) started the manga as a one-shot in January 2021 and then began serialization in May 2022 on Shueisha’s Shounen Jump Plus. Shueisha published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in July 2022 and the eighth and final volume on March 4th, 2025.
Both MANGA Plus and Viz Media release the manga in English under the name You and I Are Polar Opposites. Viz Media will release the fifth volume on May 6th, 2025.
The story follows Miyu Suzuki, a bright and bubbly high schooler who’s got a crush. There’s just one little problem—when it comes to personality, the guy she’s into is her polar opposite!
Suzuki’s a high school girl in love, but the guy she’s fallen for is nothing like her! While she’s cheerful, outgoing, and always trying to fit in, her classmate Yusuke Tani is stoic, quiet, and doesn’t seem to care what people think of him. Will Suzuki be able to overcome her anxieties and ask him out, or will she discover that opposites really don’t attract?
