In a white void, blood is splattered, destruction occurs, the bodies of 14 girls who fought with their lives lay lifeless on the ground, what once lived is no more, and amongst the chaos are what used to be "friends," "companions," ..."lovers."
"Do you not remember...? Please...." says the man as he pleads, begging for his partner.
???: "What I remember is you abandoning me. Letting me rot away in dust, letting me suffer. While you.. YOU, you lived happily ever after. Was it fun? Replacing me, living life with those 14 filthy leeches?! Tell me An, did it feel better to be with them, better than with me?"
The enraged woman, who felt betrayed by her partner forms a fist, her veins clear, she is filled with anger.
An: "Just listen to me! Hear my side of the story!"
???: "I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANYMORE OF YOUR LIES, AN!"
Then with a punch to the skull from the Woman, An instantly dies.. But.. Reality rewinds, everything is resetting, An's death has brought upon a new attempt. An, is in the white void, but this time no blood is in sight, no bodies, no destruction, everything is clear, then a slow clapping sound is heard and An slowly looks to the direction of the sound, it is revealed that it comes from a woman sitting in a chair with a prepared tea set placed on a circular table, she wears oddly styled clothes, she wears a Leather tricorn hat paired with a feather, A tattered long leathered coat, two big gloves in both hands, and Leather pants paired with boots.
An: "Pride.." An sighs as he says the woman's name.
Pride: "Oh how fantastic, you failed again.. Not that I'm surprised, you failed over 199 times.. 199 True resets An, I'm impressed. This will be your 200th attempt, you should really stop letting her kill you in your rest state it's what triggers the true reset completely resetting everything, starting from scratch... Dying normally then entering the rest state before retrying again is fine and all, but the fact that she can tear through and go inside the rest state once she adapts to it is.. Never mind, go solve that yourself, I'm not the one fighting anyways... By the way you're completely naked right now, true resets really starts everything from scratch huh?" Pride scoffs
An: "Wow, 200, Even number yay..." An sighs once more, his moral is in gutters.
Pride: "... Take a seat, An." An sits down at the chair from the little Tea set up made from Pride, Pride pours An a cup of tea and places it at the circular table and pushes the teacup gently towards An.
Pride: ".. Are you finally getting tired of resetting now? You could use Law, that ability of yours that can make everything follow your orders, you could use that to end it all y'know?" Pride says as she sips her tea. "Like... 'Make her know my true intentions and I don't mean her harm!' something like that, and it will come true, you've already died plenty of times, maybe more than a million... And 199 of resetting reality, so what can one desperate command do? If you die then that's that, nothing new, you'll come back anyways." Pride tries to give An some ideas.
An: "Wow, I think you're forgetting the fact that dying is painful. If you could, please give me ways to complete a task without a part of me dying in it." An scoffs as he looks at the tea Pride prepared for him. "And... I already did try a desperate command and a heavy command, nothing happens. Did you forget that? I mean I would try 'Remove the limitations from Law' but that is also a desperate command from me." An sighs
Pride: "Wow, I'm starting to feel like that ability is really useless... I could use mine you know? It's like your Law but different, named it 'Command.' ... A simple name I know, but simplicity sometimes is the best, anyways... My command has some rules your Law has but, instead of nothing happening it will most possibly kill me if I do a really heavy command, or a really desperate one but the command would still come true. How did I found out? I just have a feeling, because every time I do a heavy or desperate command it pains my body, so if I take it too far I might probably die, hell maybe I might even get erased from reality and not even your reset can bring me back." Pride says as she takes another sip of her tea.
An: "So you're basically saying that you're going to sacrifice yourself... I think you're not getting the point of this whole situation, if I lose you Pride, that is more problems to deal with... "
Pride: "Oh how heroic, that's the An I know~" Pride says sarcastically as she blushes slightly. Then silence fills the space.
Pride: "..Are you perhaps... Unsure of.. this will ever work out? I mean, you've been destroying reality over and over that I wonder.. When you will destroy yourself, and you know, as you are very aware already.. My job is to prevent that.. You don't have to face this alone you know?"
An: "No, Pride.. it's.. fine, really. I should have.. protected her, I really should've, but I couldn't, every second this feeling of guilt tears me away, and if I don't do this myself, that guilt will remain... Every reset it just feels like.. I don't know, like she's slowly drifting away from my grasp... This nauseating feeling of being unable to save her is.. scary. Its like her life is meant to be harsh, like it's never meant to be changed.. Like how everything can't go on when I die, it needs me for everything to start operating and I can't change it, hence why the resetting keeps happening."
Pride: "... You're always saying that you need to handle it yourself, what's even the point of me being here..?" Pride whispered the words.
An: "Pardon? Did you say anything?" An asks as he grabs the tea Pride poured for him.
Pride: "No, nothing... Well? Aren't you going to try again? You know, Live, die, go on adventures, die, form a harem, die, die once more at the final battle then truly dying-" Pride then gets cut off by An.
An: "Ok I get it, I won't spend another second here with your bickering..." An then drinks the tea and stands up from his seat, silence then occurs between the two.
An: "... I'll be going now Pride." Says An as he prepares to leave the rest state.
Pride: "See you soon." Pride says with a mischievous grin.
An: "... Why do you have that grin on your face -" An gets cut off as he leaves the rest state unwillingly, and is then placed in an empty black space.
An: "Oh... That's what she meant by 'See you soon'... I completely forgot I start in space before the big bang existed, sigh the hardships of being the first being alive-" An is immediately cut off as he chokes to death, time resets. And he is suddenly brought back in the Rest State, the White void. Where Pride greets him.
Pride: "I am never getting tired of seeing you forget that you completely start off in a dead zone." Pride laughs as she points at An.
An gives Pride a stare as he sighs.
Pride: "Oh Please, don't look at me like that. Every Reset and True Reset multiplies the growth of your capabilities, it should only take you one to three attempts before your body completely adapts to it." Pride wipes the tears from her laughter as she finally settles down. "... Okay, see you later An."
An: "... See you later, Pride." This time, An removes himself from the rest state on his own will, and he is back in space.
An is now left floating in the darkness where nothing has existed yet. His Body has completely adapted in one attempt, unlike the past few resets where he had to die multiple times just for his body to adapt.
An: "I am not a fan of this part, floating alone in space is not fun at all. Waiting for centuries until something happens is just torture..." An lets out a heavy sigh as he floats in to the nothingness "... I wonder when this will all be over... I just want this to end..." An's eyelids grow heavier, he has no other choice but to force himself to sleep until the big bang happens.
Meanwhile in the Rest State, Pride sits pondering.
Pride: "... Centuries feel like days now. I wonder how many seconds.. Minutes... Hours... We have spent throughout the course of our entire lives doing this over and over... Me too, An. I also want this to end, I have grown tired of watching you fall and rise back up. Like a phoenix who is reborn from its ashes. You say to handle this all by yourselves but that's the problem, I want to carry the burden with you. Seeing you die over and over is what pains me the most, I just hope that when the time comes, you will understand-and not hate me for it." Pride unknowingly lets out what she really thinks of this whole situation, she hates it.
Meanwhile as An floats through space aimlessly he feels something changing.
An: "Oh finally, is it here-" Without a moment of preparation An immediately gets hit with a beautiful yet dangerous explosion, the Big Bang has occurred. And instantly time resets and he is sent back to the Rest State where Pride greets him once more.
Pride: "Hey there, did you miss me?" Pride says as she grins
An: "Oh I have really missed you alright, talking to someone after spending time alone floating in a black void is always a relief. It gets boring doing it over and over again." Matt struggles for a bit trying to stand up as he got used to floating in space.
Pride: "Hah, floating around doing nothing in space sounds boring enough, I can't imagine doing it over and over." Pride sticks her tongue out at An obviously kidding with him.
An: "Sucks to be me then, I'm going out again Pride." An then leaves the Rest State to face the Big bang explosion again.
Pride: "Jeez, why's he in such a hurry." Pride sighs
Time resets 5 seconds before An died from the explosion, An braces for it, the Big Bang explosion happens once more, miraculously, An survived the explosion this time, the amount of Resets that had happened had only got him stronger that it mostly takes him one attempt to fully adapt to dangers, as An slowly opens up his eyes he sees multiple Particles that came from the explosion.
An: "This is going to take some time before the Planets and stars start to form, well, at least this empty blank space has got some decoration now. This makes my bedtime much more fantastic..." An sighs and he's back to sleep.
Meanwhile in the Rest State, Pride still sits in the Tea set up she made using her command ability, and with a wave of her hand a journal appears. Pride sets it down the table, and makes a working Quill using her command ability. She writes, trying to lose herself from time, time to time she wonders when will An finally let her help him, she has waited, and waited. As she writes she can't help but think that she wants to intervene.
Centuries has passed once more, the planets has formed, the stars shine bright. It's finally time for An to get moving. An floats through space, he remembers where to go. He remembers where earth is, he will never forget it. As that is the planet that has planted An's troubles, and he will fix it, no matter what it takes. An finally arrives to earth and stares at it, he has travelled lightyears, it was a slow travel. The start of his attempt has been slow but he has arrived.
An: "Such a beautiful planet, but at the same time harsh." An takes a deep breath and he enters in the atmosphere. He falls, the gravity pulling him is rough, he lights up in flames. Almost like a meteor, but his body has already adapted to something worse. An doesn't feel anything, he just waits until he hits a rough surface. Then finally... BOOM. An hits the sea, he was once engulfed in flames but now embraced in water. He sees a familiar island he will never forget, and swims towards it. The amount of times he has swam to this island, he is familiar of it. An unforgettable feeling, after an exhausting amount of time swimming, An finally reaches the island. He takes his first steps, and takes a deep breath.
An: "Alright, let's do this again." An immediately gets to work, he starts gathering resources, especially food. Not to survive, but to simply eat delicacies. Floating through nothingness after a long time has him craving for food. An follows through steps he certainly remembers, and there he finds a Cave, a cave that has sheltered him throughout all resets. He feels safe inside, as An found his shelter he continues to scavenge, finding resources, he continues this, passing through seasons, Winter, Spring, Summer, Autumn. He's stacked with fire woods and food, his life was normal so far... Until he hears a familiar rustling through the bushes.
He goes outside of the cave, It has been a while since he has seen another human being besides Pride. But there she was, a woman with messy hair completely naked. Clearly she looks confused, unaware of her surroundings, Like she just got here. After seconds of silence An finally decides to speak out.
An: "H... Hello." An says nervously, he has seen this woman multiple times before. But he is still as nervous as ever as the first day, the first reset since he saw her.
"Ahh.. gahmmm." The woman tries to communicate, but she does not know any languages. Her mannerisms reminds An of a toddler. Unable to converse with An The Woman is disappointed.
An: "... Oh right, you still can't speak." An points to the cave and tries to communicate with the Woman to follow him, which The Woman quickly understood.
Together they go inside the Cave, and An immediately treats The Woman with treats, giving her freshly cooked Fish, and even making her clothes made out of leaves and vines. The Woman quickly grew accustomed to An, immediately trusting him just because he gave her Food.
An: Smiles "...She has always loved food, she can't go a day without asking for one. Now... Since we are in greece, it would be common sense to teach her how to speak in Greek." With that, An quickly gets to work after The Woman finishes eating her food. An first teaches her the alphabet of Greek before moving on to words, then forming sentences. In just a day, she has immediately learned how to speak in Greek.
An: "You are one fast learner... Very impressive. Now that we have communications out of the way... Now we have to give you a name." An says with a smile on his face, clearly having fun with the companionship of The Woman.
"Name...? What is that An?" The Woman asks innocently
An: "A name is what makes you the person you are, your identity. Every single being should have a name... En... Yes, En. That will be your name, your identity... Do you like it?" An asks the question with a smile.
En: "Hehe... Yes! It sounds just like yours, we are like a pair! I'm En and you are An!" En jumps around like an excited toddler.
An smiles seeing her so happy with the name he gave her. "If only you could see how happy I was when you gave me my name as well..." An whispers
En: "Did you say anything An?" En stops jumping and runs to An like an innocent child.
An: "No, nothing... Why don't we hunt for food? You like food right? Especially fish, it's your favorite." An stands up from his seat and grabs two spears, one for him and one for En.
En: "Oh! Ohh! I love eating fish I want to hunt with An!" En grabs the spear with excitement and skips out of the cave excitedly, together An and En walks through the forest until they reach the sea.
An: "Say, En. Where did you come from? How did you survive until now?" An makes conversations, making sure it is not too awkward on the way to the sea.
En: "Uhmm... From what I remember... The first memory I have... I remember being in an empty space. Where it was just me, nothing else. And then suddenly this Really Reaaalllyy Big Explosion appeared! It was so big, and it hurt. I thought I was in trouble but...! My body was first in shambles from contact of the explosion but as my vision was disappearing my Body completely fixed itself! I survived a really big explosion! But! But! The explosion was really really beautiful, I could stare at it all day... You know... I think my body adjusts itself when I am in danger, or when I am desperate. It's like my body has a mind of its own! It's like it is helping me survive!" En completely shares her experiences before she met An, it sounds really similar to what An went through.
An: "... So that is why you were really quick at learning the Greek Language, it's like your body is assisting you... Very impressive." An commends En, making En smile widely. They talk and talk, time passes and without them noticing they have already reached the sea.
En: "Are the fishes here??? I want to hunt them now!" En raises her spear excitingly
An: "Alright alright, just follow me." An smiles as he experiences these events together with En, he doesn't want this moment to end. He wants everything to be peaceful, but he knows that it won't last. He has spent all his life resetting, living the same life over and over, but... What can not be taken from him is living his life in Earth. It is filled with happy memories, that is why he is not planning to give up. He will keep on dying, resetting, until he finally fixes his Errors.
