The official website for the Haibara-kun no Tsuyokute Seishun New Game (Haibara’s Teenage New Game+ / 灰原くんの強くて青春ニューゲーム) anime has revealed a new promotional video, visual, and it confirmed that the anime will premiere in April 2026 on the TBS channel.

Hoshino Misuzu is directing the anime at Studio Comet, and the anime will star Uemura Yuuto as Natsuki Haibara and Takao Kanon as Hikari Hoshimiya.
The anime is based on Amamiya Kazuki’s Haibara-kun no Tsuyokute Seishun New Game light novel series. Hobby Japan published Amamiya’s first novel in December 2021, with illustrations by Gin, and the novel series won the grand prize in the HJ Novel Award in 2020. The series’s ninth novel was released in July 2025.
J-Novel Club releases the novel series in English under the name Haibara’s Teenage New Game+, and it will publish the ninth novel digitally on February 27th, 2026. J-Novel Club describes the novel story below:
“We all have embarrassing memories or deep regrets from high school, right? Socially anxious college senior Natsuki Haibara sure does. When he thinks back on that time of his life, all he has are fleeting fantasies of a happy adolescence that could have been. Manga artist Misaomaru adapted the novels into a manga with the same name, from June 2023 to August 2024, in Hobby Japan’s Comic Fire, and Hobby Japan released two tankoubon volumes, the first in August 2025 and the second in October 2025.
The manga recived a sequel by manga artist Comochiya in December 2024. The manga sequel titled Haibara-kun no Tsuyokute Seishun New Game: Ame ni Utareru Kimi ni Kasa o Sasou is serialised in Hobby Japan’s Comic Fire.
