The official website for the Hyоuken no Majutsushi ga Sekai wo Suberu (The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World/ 冰剣の魔術師が世界を統べる) TV anime has confirmed that the anime has been green-lit for a second season, which will debut in October 2026.

Takata Masahiro is returning as the director for the anime’s second season, this time at Zero-G studio. The anime’s first season was animated by Cloud Hearts, and it premiered in January 2023. Crunchyroll streams the anime under the title The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World, and it describes the story below:
“The Arnold Academy of Sorcery for society’s most elite has just received their first commoner student: Ray White. Despite the contempt he’s received, Ray’s managed to befriend an eclectic group of classmates that get him into all sorts of schemes. But the pressures of maneuvering teenage drama is half his worries, as he secretly is the most powerful sorcerer…the Iceblade Sorcerer!”

The anime is based on the Hyouken no Majutsushi ga Sekai wo Suberu – Sekai Saikyou no Majutsushi de Aru Shounen wa, Majutsu Gakuin ga Nyuugaku Suru (冰剣の魔術師が世界を統べる ～世界最強の魔術師である少年は、魔術学院に入学する～) light novel series by Mikoshiba Nana. Author Mikoshiba launched the original story in October 2019 on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website, and the first novel was published in July 2020 with illustrations by Korie Riko. Kodansha will publish the ninth novel in Japan on June 2nd, 2026.
Sasaki Norihito began the manga adaptation in June 2020 on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket, and Kodansha released the manga’s first tankoubon volume in November 2020. The manga’s 16th and final volume was released in April 2024.
Kodansha USA Publishing releases the manga volumes in English under the name The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World, and it will release the 13th volume in print on June 2nd, 2026. Kodansha USA describes the manga story below:
“The Arnold Academy of Magic is a school for the elite…and Ray White is just your ordinary guy. In fact, he doesn’t seem particularly skilled with magic at all, and is a bit of a klutz.
