The official website for the Chi: Chikyuu no Undou ni Tsuite (Orb: On the Movements of the Earth) anime has released a new visual and confirmed that the anime will have 25 episodes and will air for two consecutive cours. The anime will premiere on October 5th, 2024, on NHK, and it will be available to stream on Netflix and ABEMA.
Shimizu Kenichi directs the anime at Madhouse Studio. The anime will star Sakamoto Maaya as Rafal, Tsuda Kenjirou as Novak, Hayami Shou as Hubert, Konishi Katsuyuki as Oczy, Nakamura Yuuichi as Badeni, and Hitomi Saya as Yolenta.
The anime is based on the manga by Uoto (Hyakuemu, Youkoso! FACT (Tokyo S-ku 2-Shibu) e). The Chi: Chikyuu no Undou ni Tsuite manga was launched in September 2020 in Shogakukan’s Big Comic Spirits and ended in April 2022. Shogakukan published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in December 2020 and the eighth and final volume in June 2022. In April 2022, the manga won the Grand Prize for the 26th Annual Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize Awards, making 24-year-old Uoto the youngest winner ever to win the prize.
