It’s been announced that the Tsuihou Sareta Cheat Fuyo Majutsushi wa Kimamana Second Life o Ouka Suru. (The Laid-Off Cheat-Granting Mage Enjoys a New Life) light novel series by Rokushima Asa has been green-lit for a TV anime adaptation. The anime will be produced at P.A. Works, and a teaser video and visual have been released.

Kisui, the novel’s illustrator, and Gyoumuyoumochi, the manga’s artist, have both released illustrations and comments in celebration of the announcement.

Author Rokushima started the original story in January 2021 on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website, and Kodansha published the first novel in print with illustrations by Kisui in January 2022. The second novel was released in October 2022.
Rokushima’s novel series is also known under the title Tsuihou Sareta … Ouka Suru. Ore wa Buki dake janaku, Arayuru Mono ni “Kyouka Point” o Fuyo Dekiru shi, Ore no Ishi de itsu demo Kouka o Kaijo Dekiru kedo, Nokotta Hito-tachi Daijoubu? (追放されたチート付与魔術師は気ままなセカンドライフを謳歌する。 俺は武器だけじゃなく、あらゆるものに『強化ポイント』を付与できるし、俺の意思でいつでも効果を解除できるけど、残った人たち大丈夫？).
The story follows Rain Garland, an enchanter belonging to one of the five great guilds, who is suddenly expelled one day. Feeling betrayed by a trusted comrade, Rain retrieved all of the enhancement points he had spent on all of the guild’s armour and instead enchanted his swords and clothing.
His cheap bronze swords now had the destructive power of legendary swords! What’s more, Rain’s enchantment magic possessed a cheat-level secret that allowed it to evolve even further. After meeting new allies, including the famous beautiful knight Lily, and the noble daughter Martina, a potential hero, Rain begins to grow into a great adventurer…!
The novel series was adapted into an ongoing manga by Gyoumuyoumochi in November 2021, and it can currently be read on Kodansha’s Comic Days app. Kodansha published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in February 2022, and it will release the manga’s 19th volume on February 9th, 2026.
