The official Twitter account for Kadokawa’s Dragon Age magazine confirmed this week that Gotah Shoji’s Full Metal Panic! Family light novel series will get a manga adaptation by Kamisori Ohige. The manga adaptation will start on December 9th, 2024, in the January 2025 issue of Kadokawa’s Dragon Age magazine.

The Full Metal Panic! Family light novel series is a sequel to the Full Metal Panic! light novel series written by Gotah and illustrated by Shikidouji. The original novel series started in 1998 and ended in 20210, with the 12th novel, and Kadakawa re-published all the books in 2011. J-Novel Club translated and released the entire novel collection digitally in English, with the 12th novel being released in June 2021. The story was also published in print in four omnibus volumes, with the last volume being published in July 2022.
Due to the popularity of the original Full Metal Panic! novel series, it received various novel spinoffs, manga adaptations, TV anime, and anime films.
Gotah and Shikidouji started Full Metal Panic! Family, a sequel to the original novel series. The story follows the daily family life of the main leads, Sousuke and Chidori, who are now all grown up with children. Kadokawa published the first novel in January 2024 and the second novel on November 20th, 2024.
