Yen Press announced last Sunday on their official Twitter that they will print the English edition of Inaba Hachi’s Tora wa Ryuu wo Mada Tabenai. with the title “The Tiger Hasn’t Eaten the Dragon Yet“. Inaba launched the series on Apr 15, 2021, on Kadokawa‘s Harta; it has been collected into two tankoubon volumes so far.

In a distant land on a nameless mountain somewhere, a young dragon is attacked by a female white tiger while out hunting. However, the tiger stops short of devouring him after noticing how undeveloped he is, and he ends up staying in her den while he recovers from his wounds. What starts as a predator-and-prey dynamic gradually develops into add relationship that the dog-eat-dog world regards with bewilderment and scorn. The tiger becomes curious about dragons and their nature, but he doesn’t like talking about his past. It appears that something tragic happened to the rest of his kind… or rather, between him and the rest of his kind.

Inaba is also known for the psychological drama Shounen no Ato, serialized on Mag Garden‘s Beat’s between February 15, 2019, to November 15, 2020, and collected into three volumes. A woman and a young boy are drawn together by their personal tragedies, living in a snow-covered town out in the countryside, sharing in each other’s misery while still clashing with each other. Their relationship takes a turn when the boy reveals himself to be something more than human…
