Shogakukan’s Weekly Shounen Sunday magazine confirmed last week that manga creator Tanabe Yellow will start a new manga titled Kaihen no Mahoutsukai (Wizard of Changing Borders) in the magazine’s 42nd issue of 2024, available for sale on September 11th, 2024.
The magazine’s website describes the Kaihen no Mahoutsukai manga as the start of an epic oriental fantasy. In a remote castle far from the secular world, a wizard is reluctant to take on an apprentice until he meets a mysterious boy.
Tanabe is well-known for the Kekkaishi (Barrier Master) manga, which ran from 2003 to 2011 in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shounen Sunday magazine. The manga was adapted into a TV anime from 2006 to 2008. Tanabe is also known for the Birdmen manga, which ran from July 2013 to February 2020 in the same magazine.
