Idea Factory International confirmed this week that it will release the Date A Live: Ren Dystopia game worldwide for PC via Steam on September 5th, 2024.

Compile Heart first released the game for PlayStation 4 in Japan in September 2020. Tachibana Koushi (Ousama no Propose) wrote the original draft of the game’s story, and Tsunako designed the characters. The game will have Japanese audio and subtitles in Japanese, English, and Traditional Chinese.

The game is based on the Date A Live light novel series, created by Tachibana and illustrated by Tsunko. The first novel was launched in March 2011, and Kadokawa’s Fujimi Shobo published the 22nd novel in March 2020. The novel series has also inspired several mangas and video games, an anime film in 2015, and a TV anime. The first season of Date A Live TV anime premiered in 2013, and the fifth season premiered in April 2024.

A newly emergent spirit named Natsumi ends up in the crosshairs of Deus Ex Machina Industry. Shido defends Natsumi from Deus Ex Machina Industry and manages to seal her powers. Following the transformation and inversion caused by Origami, Shido manages to reshape the world to protect it, eventually sealing Origami.

Enemies may still lurk about, but Shido and his friends savor the peace they’ve secured through their ordeals. After an ordinary evening spent among friends, Shido has an unusual dream. He hears a mysterious voice calling out from the shadows. Upon waking up the next morning, Shido discovers a peculiar container adorned with a snake pattern under his pillow. Thinking it might be a prank, Shido asks around for the container’s owner. But when they try to open it…
