Kadokawa’s Monthly Dragon Age magazine has announced that Hitsuji Tarou’s Kore ga Mahoutsukai no Kirifuda (This is the Wizard’s Last Card) light novel will get a manga adaptation by Kuroe Keishu in the magazine’s August 2024 issue.
Hitsuji’s (Last Round Arthurs, Furuki Okite no Mahou Kishi, Roku de Nashi Majutsu Koushi to Akashic Records) first novel, with illustrations by Mishima Kurone, was published by Kadokawa in November 2023. The second novel in the series was published in March 2024, and the third novel will be released on July 20th, 2024.
The story follows the master swordsman Rikusu, who fakes his death in battle. Seeking a life outside of fighting, he enrolls in a magic school but is judged to have no aptitude for magic. Nevertheless, Rikusu pushes on with his natural fighting ability to get through school life and tries his hand at his own “magic” to find a new way of life.
