Akita Publishing’s Monthly Princess magazine confirmed that Kawabata Arata’s Onmyouji, Abe no Seimei manga will end in the magazine’s August 2024 issue, which will be available for sale on July 5th, 2024.
The manga is an adaptation of Yuuki Mitsuru’s novel series. Yuuki (Shounen Onmyouji) published the first book in 2010 and the fifth book in 2017. Kawabata (Hokenshitsu no Otaku Onee-san wa Suki desu ka?) started the manga adaptation of the novels in February 2020, and Akita Shoten published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in August 2020. The latest volume, number eight, was released in March 2024.
The story centers on the historical figure Abe no Seimei, one of Japan’s most famous Onmyouji (ancient Japanese occultists). The story of the first book begins when Abe no Seimei inadvertently assists Princess Tachibana during Kyoto’s Kamosai festival and discovers that she is possessed by a formidable spirit.
