An anime film adaptation of the novel Trapezium by Takayama Kazumi has been announced. Flag Pictures announced the news this week, and Aniplex released a teaser visual and a video for the film, which will premiere in Japan on May 10, 2024.

Aniplex also posted a video message from the novel’s author in honour of the film announcement.

Shinohara Masahiro (episode director for Blend S, Is the Order a Rabbit?) directs the film at CloverWorks (SPY×FAMILY, Her Blue Sky, Fairy Tail). It is also confirmed that Yuikawa Asaki will play the protagonist, Yuu Higashi, in the film.

The novel was serialised in Kadokawa Media Factory’s Da Vinci book and manga news magazine from 2016 to 2018. Kadokawa published the Trapezium novel in November 2018. The novel depicts ten years of Yuu Higashi’s life as she aims to become an idol. Takayama, the novel’s author, was a first-generation member of the idol group Nogizaka46.
