The message on the official website reads:

“Thank you for your continued support of “Ten Count.”

Regarding the theatrical animation “Ten Count,” which was scheduled to be released in 2023, we have been moving forward with the release. Still, due to reasons regarding the production, we have decided to cancel the project.

We sincerely apologize to all the fans who have been looking forward to it for a long time and everyone involved in the production.

The anime was initially scheduled to debut in 2020, but it was later announced that it would premiere in theatres in 2023. It was directed by Tayoma So (Pokémon movies), with East Fish Studio and Synergy SP in charge of production. Pony Canyon would be responsible for distribution. Takarai first published the original manga in July 2013 in Shishokan’s Dear+ magazine, and it ran until November 2017. The first tankoubon volume was released in September 2013, and the sixth and last volume was released in March 2018.
