Bandai Namco confirmed this week that they will release a remastered version of the Freedom Wars game for PlayStation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. The game will be released in Japan on January 9th, 2025, and available worldwide on January 10th, 2025.

The original game was released in Japan for PS Vita in June 2014 and in the West in October 2014. Bandai Namco describes the Freedom Wars remaster game below.
In the distant future, humanity is in a struggle to survive. Pollution has devastated the planet, and the remnants of humanity are divided into city-sized prisons called Panopticons. So scarce are resources that living itself is a crime, and those born are immediately given a million years of prison time. Dubbed “Sinners,” the only option other than awaiting death in prison is to fight for freedom with allies for resources, to rescue citizens from abduction by rival enemies, or to take up arms against other enemy Sinners.
