The official website for the fourth anime movie in the Boku no Hero Academia (My Hero Academia) franchise has revealed a new trailer, movie title, visuals, and premiere date. The film will be titled Boku no Hero Academia: The Movie: You’re Next (My Hero Academia: You’re Next) and premiere on August 2nd, 2024.

Okamura Tensai (Darker Than Blood) directs the film at BONES studio. Returning staff members from the television series and previous movies include scriptwriter Kuroda Yousuke, character designer Umakoshi Yoshihiko, and composer Hayashi Yuki. The movies and anime series are based on the original manga by Horikoshi Kouhei, which was launched in July 2014 in Shueisha’s Weekly Shounen Jump magazine.
The franchise has previously had three movies. The first movie was Boku no Hero Academia, the Movie Futari no Hero (My Hero Academia: Two Heroes), which opened in Japan in July 2018. The second movie, Boku no Hero Academia, the Movie Heroes: Rising (My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising), opened in Japan in December 2019. Boku no Hero Academia THE MOVIE World Heroes’ Mission (My Hero Academia The Movie: World Heroes’ Mission) was the franchise’s third movie to hit Japanese cinemas in August 2021. This new installment will have an original story that will take place around the same time as the events of the 7th season of the anime.
