The official website for the TV anime Yakuza Fiancé: Raise wa Tanin ga Ii has released the second promotional video and confirmed that the anime will premiere on October 7th, 2024, on the Tokyo MX channel.

Kawase Toshifumi is directing the anime at Studio DEEN, and the anime will star Ueda Hitomi as Yoshino Somei and Ishida Akira as Kirishima Miyama, Yusa Kouji as Shoma Toriashi, Kamiya Hiroshi as Azami Suo, Ueda Youji as Renji Somei and Nakai Kazuya as Gaku Miyama.

The new cast members confirmed for the anime are Takeuchi Ryouta as Aoi Tachibana, Shimozaki Hiroshi as Sota Inamori, Konishi Katsuyuki as Taketo Hotei and Ueda Reina as Tsubaki Akashigata.

The anime is based on Konishi Asuka’s Yakuza Fiancé: Raise wa Tanin ga Ii manga. Konishi (Haru no Noroi) started the ongoing manga in August 2017 in Kodansha’s Afternoon magazine, and Kodansha released the manga’s first tankoubon volume in November 2017. The latest volume, number eight, was published in October 2023.

Yoshino grew up as the yakuza princess of the Osaka Somei crime family. Everyone left her alone due to her sharp gaze and mobster ties. But when her grandfather signs a truce with the Tokyo-based Miyama crime family, she’s offered in marriage to the Miyama leader’s grandson, Kirishima. At first, Kirishima seems amiable and polite–but when he shows his dark side, he proves to be more disturbing than any gangster Yoshino has ever met.
