The first seven minutes of the Mizuiro no Sasha (The Aqua Sasha) anime film began streaming this week. The film will premiere in theatres in Japan on October 10th, 2025.

The Mizuiro no Sasha film is the fourth out of the seven animated films that are planned for the Yamato yo Towa ni: Rebel 3199 (Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199) project, which is the next project in the Space Battleship Yamato remakes.

The first film in the Yamato yo Towa ni: Rebel 3199 (Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199) series project, titled Kuro no Shinryaku (Dark Invasion), premiered on July 16th, 2024. The film is available to stream on Crunchyroll under the title Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato. The second film, Sekijitsu no Shutsuheki (The Assault of the Burning Sun), premiered on November 22nd 2024, and the third film, Gunjou no Asteroid (Ultramarine Asteroid), premiered in April 2025.
The new project is a sequel to the Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2205: Aratanaru Tabidachi Koushou – STASHA (Space Battleship Yamato 2205: The New Voyage Part II: Stasha) film, which opened in February 2022. Yamato Naomichi directs the new anime, and Fukui Harotoshi is credited as supervising director. The late producer Nishizaki Yoshinobu is credited for the original work, and his son Nishizaki Shoji is credited as chief production supervisor and copyright chief supervisor.
