Staff for the Ichijouma Mankitsu Gurashi! (一畳間まんきつ暮らし！) TV anime have revealed the main cast for the series on the day of the show’s premiere, April 11th, 2026.

Watanabe Toshinori is directing the anime at PRA studios, and the newly confirmed cast members are listed below:

The Ichijouma Mankitsu Gurashi! anime premiered on April 11th, 2026, on ABC TV, TV Asahi and 22 affiliated channels at 26:00 JST (effectively, April 12th at 2:00 a.m.).

The anime is an adaptation of Hisamakumako’s Ichijouma Mankitsu Gurashi! manga. Hisamakumako started the manga in December 2018 in Houbunsha’s Manga Time Kirara magazine, and Houbunsha published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in November 2019. The manga’s fourth volume was released in July 2025, and the fifth volume is scheduled for release on May 27th, 2026.
The manga story follows Meiko, a high school girl who is selected as a special transfer student to a prestigious girls’ school in the city! However, in exchange for free tuition, she ends up living and working at a manga cafe that doubles as a student dormitory, alongside some pretty unique residents. Thus begins Meiko’s strange, new life in a packed tatami room!
