Staff for the Mato Seihei no Slave (Chained Soldier/ 魔都精兵のスレイブ) TV anime have revealed a new key visual for the show’s second season, and they have confirmed that the anime will premiere on January 8th, 2026, on the Tokyo MX and AT-X channels. The anime is set to air at 24:00 p.m. on January 8th, 2026 (effectively on January 9th, 2026).
The anime’s first season was directed by Kuji Gorou at Seven Arcs studio. It premiered in January 2024 and ran for 12 episodes. Tamura Masafumi directs the second season at Hayabusa Film and Passione studios.

The Mato Seihei no Slave anime is based on the manga of the same name, created by Takahiro (Gokusotsu Kraken, Akame ga KILL!, Hinowa ga CRUSH!) with illustrations by Takemura Youhei. The manga was first serialised in January 2019 in the Shounen Jump+, and Shueisha published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in March 2019. The manga’s 19th volume was released on September 4th, 2025.
Yen Press releases the manga volumes in English under the name Chained Soldier, and it will release the manga’s 13th volume on December 16th, 2025. Yen Press describes the manga story below:
