Staff for the Seihantaina Kimi to Boku (You and I Are Polar Opposites/ 正反対な君と僕 ) TV anime have confirmed that the anime has been green-lit for a second season, which will debut on July 5th, 2026. The anime will air on the MBS, TBS and 26 other channels at 5:00 p.m JST. Crunchyroll has confirmed that it will stream the new season.

The anime’s first season, directed by Nagatomo Takayoshi at Lapin Track, premiered in January 2026. The first season is available to stream on Crunchyroll under the name You and I Are Polar Opposites. Crunchyroll describes the anime story below:

“Suzuki’s a high school girl in love, but the guy she’s fallen for is nothing like her! While she’s cheerful, outgoing, and always trying to fit in, her classmate Yusuke Tani is stoic, quiet, and doesn’t seem to care what people think of him. Seihantaina Kimi to Boku Anime Visual

The show is based on the Seihantaina Kimi to Boku romance manga by Agasawa Koucha. Manga author Agasawa (Koori no Jyouheki) started the manga as a one-shot in January 2021 and then began serialisation in May 2022 on Shueisha’s Shounen Jump Plus. Shueisha published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in July 2022 and the eighth and final volume in March 2025.

Both MANGA Plus and Viz Media release the manga in English under the name You and I Are Polar Opposites. Viz Media released the manga’s eighth and final volume in February 2026, and it describes the story below:
