The official website for the Busu ni Hanataba o (April Showers Bring May Flowers) TV anime has released a new promotional video, and it confirmed that the anime will premiere on July 4th 2025, on the Tokyo MX and MBS channels.

Minato Mirai is directing the anime at SILVER LINK studios, and the anime will star:
- Hayami Saori as Hana Tabata
- Tsuchiya Shimba as Yosuke Ueno
- Aoyama Yoshino as Sumire Uguisudani
- Hosoya Yoshimasa as Tetsuo Gotanda
- Koichi Mokato as Keisuke Ueno
- Hatanaka Tasuke as Tsutomu Shinbashi
The anime is based on Sakura Roku’s Busu ni Hanataba o manga. Sakura serialised the manga from April 2016 to September 2022 in Kadokawa’s Monthly Young Ace magazine, and Kadokawa published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in November 2016. The manga’s 12th and final volume was released in November 2022.
Yen Press releases the original manga in English under the name April Showers Bring May Flowers, and it will release the third volume on July 22nd, 2025. It describes the story below:
“Hana Tabata has accepted her role as the unattractive side character in other people’s stories. Though her name is Japanese for flower, she sure doesn’t feel like one. That doesn’t mean she can’t enjoy some heart-pounding romance manga—and maybe occasionally, every so often, imagine herself as the heroine. But when the most popular guy in class stumbles upon a daydreaming Hana, she braces herself for the embarrassment and humiliation to come. Unexpectedly, he keeps her secret—and he also won’t stop striking up conversations with her! Ever the pessimist, Hana can’t help feeling suspicious…But could it be that his friendly demeanour is genuine?”
Manga author Sakura started a new special edition series for the manga in the April 2025 issue of Kadokawa’s Monthly Young Ace magazine.
