The official Twitter account for Futabasha’s Web Action Service has revealed that Matsuda Mai’s Houkago Kitaku Biyori manga has been green-lit for an anime adaptation.

Matsuda (Hikaru in the Light!) started the manga in August 2023 in Futabasha’s Manga Action magazine, and Futabasha published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in January 2024. The manga’s fourth volume was released on March 27th, 2025.
The story follows Shun, who was invited to the Going-Home Club by Naoki Satou, also known as “Chokki-chan”. Despite refusing, he ends up being somewhat forcefully involved in the club’s activities! A Going Home Club rom-com featuring a detour-loving high school girl and a new high school student who has lost his dream.
