The manga Sugar Apple Fairy Tale, launched by Yozora no Udon, will end on December 4th, 2023. The manga premiered in November 2021, and it’s the second manga adaptation of the light novels by the same name. It was reported last weekend that the manga, which is serialised in Kadokawa’s Young Ace magazine, will end on December 4th.
The original light novels were created by Mikawa Miri and illustrated by Aki in April 2010, and the series ended in February 2015 with its 17th Volume. The first manga adaptation, created by Yukimura Alto, was published on Hakusensha‘s Hana to Yume Online website from 2013 to 2014. In addition, an anime adaptation of the novels, produced by studio J.C. Staff and directed by Suzuki Youhei, premiered in January 2023.
Yen Press licensed the original light novel series, and Yozora no Udon’s manga adaptation describes the story as follows:
In a world where fairies are bought and sold to the highest bidder, humans aren’t on friendly terms with the fae folk. But friendship is exactly what Anne Halford seeks with Challe, her new fairy bodyguard, though he’s not keen on the idea. As his new master, Anne tasks him with escorting her through a particularly dangerous area, but with a reluctant bodyguard eager to escape a life of servitude, she’ll have to deal with a lot more than she bargained for…
