In 1996, cases of mutations started popping up in the Myr'ad, renowned as the ultimate stable realm—causing unrest in the civilians as DEMONT scrambled to find a solution. Unhappy with the lack of action, Myr'ad residents grew more agitated, and those afflicted with mutations felt unsafe to seek out treatment—causing their symptoms to worsen, eventually losing their minds and devouring others. Mayuka, a daughter of two DEMONT officers, became the school's token punching bag for any resentment felt towards officers. On her way home late one night, beaten and tired, she spots an eerie figure approaching a cat. Grabbing the person by the hand, she finds out that it was her downstairs neighbour—blind, mutated and in fear.
