The manga recently returned from hiatus and released the 50th chapter on August 8th, 2025, on Ichijinsha’s Plus Web manga website. The manga’s previous chapter, number 49, was released in 2016 in Ichijinsha’s Zero-Sum Online.
Minekura (Saiyuki Reload Blast, Saiyuki) started the manga in 2000 in Tokuma Shoten’s Chara magazine. The manga switched to Ichijinsha’s Zero-Sum World Magazine in 2011 and then to Ichijinsha’s Zero-Sum Online in 2015. Since 2011, Ichijinsha has re-published the manga’s initial tankoubon volumes, and it released the latest volume, number seven, in July 2015.
The manga’s story is described below:
“Makoto Kubota wandered through life, not taking things too seriously or looking too deeply within himself. His job as the head of the Izumo Group’s youth gang kept him occupied with yakuza wars, mahjong and assassinations… Until the day he stumbled upon a strange drug called Wild Adapter that produces bizarre side-effects – including death.”
