Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ manga website has confirmed that the Astro Baby (アストロベイビー) manga by Moriya Shiro will end with its next chapter on October 25th, 2025.
Moriya (Ori no Naka no Soloist) started the manga in February 2024 on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ website, and Shueisha published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in June 2024 and the fourth volume in July 2025. The manga’s fifth volume is scheduled for release on November 4th, 2025.
Viz Media and Shueshia’s MANGA Plus service publish the manga digitally in English under the same name. Viz Media released the manga’s second volume in August 2025, and it describes the manga story below:
“An alien parasitic disease known as couper-29 has invaded Earth, giving those infected an appetite for human flesh. In an attempt to stop the disease from spreading, the military has put the remote town of North Hill on lockdown. However, there is one person crazy enough to volunteer and enter the infected disease zone—and his reason for rushing headlong into the chaos? Love!”
