Kadokawa’s Gundam Ace magazine has confirmed that Katsuragi Hiyon and Kaitou Reiji’s Kidou Senshi Gundam Valpurgis EVE (Mobile Suit Gundam Valpurgis EVE) manga will end in the magazine’s July 2025 issue, which will be available for sale on May 26th, 2025.
The manga is a prequel to the original Kidou Senshi Gundam Valpurgis manga. Katsuragi and Kaitou started the Kidou Senshi Gundam Valpurgis manga in August 2017 in Kadokawa’s Gundam Ace magazine, and Kadokawa published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in March 2018. The 10th and final volume was released in December 2022.
Katsuragi and Kaitou then started the Kidou Senshi Gundam Valpurgis EVE prequel manga in January 2023 in Kadokawa’s Gundam Ace magazine and Kadokawa published the manga’s first volume in September 2023 and the third volume in September 2024.
Both manga series are part of the Kidou Senshi Gundam (Mobile Suit Gundam) franchise, which started as a TV anime in April 1979 and has since expanded into various manga adaptations, spinoffs, prequels, OVAS, TV anime, and anime films. The original story is described below:
In the year Universal Century 0079, humanity lives in space colonies called Sides. Side 3, the Principality of Zeon, has declared war on the Earth Federation. After the initial fighting, an 8-month stalemate occurred. However, that stalemate breaks when Amuro Ray stumbles into the Gundam, the Earth Federation’s secret weapon.
