Manga artist Katayama Ayaka announced on her Twitter account that her Kin to Tetsu (Fungus and Iron/菌と鉄 ) manga will end with the series’s 10th tankoubon volume.

Katayama started the manga in March 2021 in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shonen Magazine, and Kodansha published the manga’s first volume in July 2021. The manga’s ninth volume was released on April 9th, 2026.
Kodansha USA Publishing releases the manga in English under the name Fungus and Iron, and it released the manga’s eighth volume digitally in February 2026. Kodansha USA describes the manga’s story below:
“Dante’s life on Amigasa seemed normal enough to him, even though everyone around him called him an oddball. But when a chance meeting with a young woman named Aoi changes everything, Dante can no longer sit idly by…unless, of course, he is made to!”
In March 2026, it was confirmed that the manga had been green-lit for a TV anime adaptation.
