Kanbe Mamoru is directing the anime at CloverWorks studio, and the anime will star Akechi Riko as Shioriko Shinokawa and Takeuchi Shunsuke as Daisuke Gora.
Mikami’s first novel was published by Kadokawa in March 2011 with illustrations by Koshijima Hagu. The novels are divided into two sections, with the first ending on its seventh novel, released in March 2017.

Currently, the series is on its second section, and it released its fourth novel (11th novel overall) in March 2024, and its fifth novel (12th novel overall) will be released on April 24th, 2026.

The novel is about the Biblia Antiquarian Bookshop, a quiet used bookstore in a corner of Kamakura. The owner is a young, beautiful woman who doesn’t fit the typical image of a used bookstore owner.
Unfortunately, she’s extremely shy and can’t even speak to people she meets for the first time. However, her knowledge of antique books is extraordinary. In stark contrast to her attitude towards people, she burns with an extraordinary passion for books, and sometimes antique books with a story behind them are brought to her. She unravels the mysteries and secrets surrounding these antique books as if she had witnessed them firsthand.
The novel series inspired three different manga adaptations. The first adaptation was by manga artist Nakano, and it was serialised from February 2012 to December 2014. The second adaptation was by Kouda Ryou, and it ran from July 2012 to September 2013. The third manga was by Niwa Haruki, titled Biblia Koshodou no Jiken Techou – Tobirako to Utsuro na Yume. The manga was serialised from February 2024 to October 2025.
