Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine announced that the Hunter X Hunter (ハンター x ハンター) manga by Togashi Yoshihiro will resume serialisation in the magazine’s 31st issue of 2026, available for sale on June 29th, 2026. Shueisha will release the manga’s 39th tankoubon volume on July 3rd, 2026.
The manga went on hiatus due to the author’s health, and the latest chapters 401-410 were published in 2024.
Togashi (YuYu Hakusho, Level E) started the manga in March 1998 in Shueisha’s Weekly Shounen Jump magazine, and Shueisha published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in June 1998. The manga’s latest volume, number 38, was released in September 2024.

The Hunter X Hunter manga has inspired several TV anime series, anime films, OVAs, stage plays, and games.
Viz Media publishes the manga in English under the title Hunter X Hunter, and it has released all of the manga’s 38 volumes. It has also begun to release the manga series as an omnibus 3-in-1 volume edition. Volume 7, covering the 19th to the 21st volume, will be released on August 18th, 2026. Viz Media describes the manga story below:
“Gon might be a country boy, but he has high aspirations. Despite his Aunt Mito’s protests, Gon decides to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a legendary Hunter. The Hunter hopefuls begin their journey by storm-tossed ship, where Gon meets Leorio and Kurapika, the only other applicants who aren’t devastated by bouts of seasickness.
Having survived the terrors of the high seas, Gon and his companions now have to prove their worth in a variety of tests in order to find the elusive Exam Hall. And once they get there, will they ever leave alive…?”
