The official website for the Aoshi football anime has confirmed that the anime has been green-lit for a second season in 2026, and it revealed a teaser visual. It’s also been confirmed that the anime’s second season will be animated by TMS Entertainment.

The anime’s first season premiered in April 2022, and all 24 episodes are available to stream on Crunchyroll. Satou Akira directed the first season at Production I.G studios. Crunchyroll describes the anime below:

After a loss in his last junior high school soccer tourney, Ehime Prefecture’s ace player, Ashito Aoi, is devastated but in every loss there’s a victory. Tatsuya Fukuda, manager of an organisation that trains students for one of the leading clubs in the J-League, sees Ashito’s raw talent and offers a tryout to his group. Together, they’ll bring the youth club and Aoshi’s talents to new heights!

The anime is based on Kobayashi Yuugo’s Aoashi football manga series. Ueno Noahiko is credited with the original story concept, and manga author Kobayashi (Tenman a la carte, Fermat no Ryouri) adapted the story in January 2015 in Shogakukan’s Weekly Big Comic Spirits magazine. Shogakukan published the manga’s first volume in April 2015, and the 39th volume was released on April 30th, 2025. It’s been confirmed that the manga series will end with the 40th volume.
