Kadokawa has released the fifth and final tankoubon volume of the Ano Natsu ga Hauwa suru (That Summer is Saturated) manga by Taketomi Satoshi on May 27th, 2025.
Taketomi started the manga in September 2022 on the Monthly Dengeki Daioh magazine, and Kadokawa published the manga’s first volume in February 2023.
The manga is based on the novel of the same name by Lori Kanzaki, published in September 2020.
Kadokawa describes the manga story below:
One summer day, a middle school girl, Ruka, accidentally kills a boy who was bullying her. When Ruka says, “I’m going to go somewhere far away and die,” Chihiro says, “Take me with you,” and the two of them go on a getaway trip. However, when they are cornered by a police officer, Ruka leaves Chihiro behind and takes her own life. 13 years later, Chihiro has grown up and is unable to forget Ruka, and lives a listless life every day. Then, he meets Ruka, a high school student who is the spitting image of Ruka. Chihiro is drawn to Ruka, but she is hiding a dark secret. Now begins a summer battle for his life.
