The official website for the TV anime Kisaki Kyouiku kara Nigetai Watashi (I Want to Escape from Princess Lessons) released a new key visual and the main promotional video, which confirms that the anime will premiere on January 5th, 2025. The anime will debut on the Tokyo MX channel on January 5th and on the BS Fuji channel on January 8th, 2025.

Tagashira Shinobu is directing the anime at EMT Squared, and the anime will star Shiraishi Haruka as Leticia and Fukuyama Jun as Clarke. The newly announced cast members are Hatano Wataru as Nadir and Saitou Yuka as Brianna.
The anime is an adaptation of the Kisaki Kyouiku kara Nigetai Watashi light novel series, written by Sawano Izumi (Make Heroine ni Tensei Shitara Seijo ni Narimashita) and illustrated by Yumesaki Miru (Tensei Akuyaku Youjo wa Saikyou Papa no Mana Musume ni Narimashita). The first novel was released by Shufu to Seikatsu Sha in April 2019, the second in March 2020, and the third in May 2024.
The stories were adapted into a manga by Sugata Uri (Ashita, Naisho no Kiss Shiyоou) in March 2020, on Shufu to Seikatsu Sha’s Comic Pash! Manga website and Shufu to Seikatsu Sha published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in November 2020 and the fifth in November 2023. The manga’s sixth volume will be released on December 6th, 2024.
J-Novel Club published both the novels and manga in English under the title I Want to Escape from Princess Lessons. J-Novel Club released the second novel in November 2023 and the third manga volume in July 2024. As of June 2024, Seven Seas has licensed the I Want to Escape from Princess Lessons manga.
The story follows Leticia Dorman, daughter of a duke, who has been engaged to the crown prince, Clarke, since age seven. Though once a spirited child, she’s undergone ten years of strict lessons to teach her manners fit for the future queen. Distraught by the loss of her freedom, Leticia clings to her hope that the prince might someday take an interest in another woman—and when he shows up at a royal ball with an unknown lady at his side, she’s elated to see her engagement broken off. Finally, her dream has come true!
Lettie wastes no time at all in retreating to the countryside for her new peaceful life, but her joy is cut short when the prince appears and informs her that she is still, in fact, his fiancée. Prince Clarke is determined to win her heart and marry her. Lettie is determined to resist him and escape. The universe is determined to not be of any help whatsoever.
