Kudo Makoto’s Bukiyouna Senpai (My Awkward Senpai) manga has been green-lit for a TV anime adaptation in 2025. A promotional video and teaser visual have been revealed, along with an illustration by Kudo.

Katake Ayumu (Acro Trip) is directing the anime at Studio Elle, and the anime will star Lynn as the protagonist, Azusa Kannawa.
Kudo started the manga on their Twitter account in March 2019 and began serialization in December 2019 in Square Enix’s Young Gangan magazine. Square Enix published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in March 2020 and the eighth volume in August 2024. The manga is released digitally in English on Square Enix’s Manga UP! Global service.
Kannawa-senpai is considered many things, but smooth is definitely not one of them. Then she meets Kamegawa, her new Kouhai. He’s cute, a little nerdy, and easy to talk to. How will this awkward Senpai be able to handle these new feelings?!
