Staff for the Ichiko Aika: Zatsu de Namaiki na Imouto to Warikirenai Ani (Ichigo Aika: Strawberry Elegy/イチゴ哀歌～雑で生イキな妹と割り切れない兄～) TV anime has revealed a new visual, cast members and confirmed that the anime will premiere in January 2026.
Konno Pyuta is directing the anime at Studio Houboshi, and the anime will star:
- Yurimoto Hana as Aika Takamura
- Ikarashi Yuuta as Kota Takamura
- Momosuke as Yoshiyuki Takamura
- Haruno Iroha as Misaki Takamura
The anime is based on the Ichiko Aika: Zatsu de Namaiki na Imouto to Warikirenai Ani adult manga by author Hirafumi and illustrator Shinba Yagi. The full-colour manga was first released digitally on DEDEDE’s Comic Cmoa service in November 2022, and CLLENN released the manga’s first three tankoubon volumes digitally on September 5th, 2025.
The manga follows Kota and his new stepsister, Aika. When Kota’s father gets remarried, Kota’s first impression of his new stepsister is that she is beautiful, but that image is shattered pretty quickly.
His new stepsister is a super sassy and foul-mouthed person who only behaves in front of their parents but is uncontrollable while their parents are away. This makes Kota’s life a living hell, and a terrible relationship unfolds, with the two hurling insults at each other whenever they meet. However, their relationship begins to change when Aika gradually warms up to Kota’s caring older-brother nature.
