Bandai Namco Filmworks has released the main trailer and visual for the Hakunetsu no Ginga Taisen (The Incandescent Galactic War) film, the fifth out of the seven animated films that are planned for the Yamato yo Towa ni: Rebel 3199 (Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199) project, the next project in the Space Battleship Yamato remakes. The fifth anime film will premiere in theatres on February 20th, 2026.

The first film in the Yamato yo Towa ni: Rebel 3199 (Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199) series project, titled Kuro no Shinryaku (Dark Invasion), premiered on July 16th, 2024. The film is available to stream on Crunchyroll under the title Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato.
The second film, Sekijitsu no Shutsuheki (The Assault of the Burning Sun), premiered on November 22nd 2024. The third film, Gunjou no Asteroid (Ultramarine Asteroid), premiered on April 11th, 2025 and the fourth film, Mizuiro no Sasha (The Aqua Sasha), on October 10th, 2025.
The new project is a sequel to the Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2205: Aratanaru Tabidachi Koushou – STASHA (Space Battleship Yamato 2205: The New Voyage Part II: Stasha) film, which opened in February 2022. Yamato Naomichi directs the new anime, and Fukui Harutoshi is credited as supervising director. The late producer Nishizaki Yoshinobu is credited for the original work, and his son Nishizaki Shoji is credited as chief production supervisor and copyright chief supervisor.
