The staff for the Watashi ga Koibito ni Nareru Wake Naijan, Muri Muri! Muri Janakatta!? (わたしが恋人になれるわけないじゃん、ムリムリ! (※ムリじゃなかった!?) /There’s No Freaking Way I’ll Be Your Lover! Unless…) TV anime have revealed a new full promotional video and a key visual. Staff have also confirmed that the anime will premiere on July 7th, 2025, on the Tokyo MX, Sun TV and BS11 channels at 25:00 (effectively July 8th at 1:00 a.m.).

Uchinuma Natsumi is directing the anime at Studio Mother, and the anime will star:
- Nakamura Kanna as Renako Amaori
- Ounishi Saori as Mai Ouzaka
- Anzai Yukari as Ajisai Sena
- Ichinose Kana as Satsuki Koto
- Tanaka Takako as Kaho Koyanagi
- Sagara Mayu as Haruna Amaori
The anime is based on the Watashi ga Koibito ni Nareru Wake Naijan, Muri Muri! Muri Janakatta!? (WATANARE) yuri light novel series by Mikami Teren and Takushima Eku.
Mikami (Moshi, Koi ga Mietanara) and Takushima released the first novel in the series in February 2020 under Shueisha’s Dash X Bunko label and the seventh novel in December 2024.
Musshu (Hana wa Saku, Shura no Gotoku) adapted the story into manga in May 2020, which was posted on Shueisha’s Dash X Comic section of the Nico Nico Seiga website. Shueisha published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in October 2020 and the seventh volume in September 2024. The manga’s eighth volume will be released on June 18th, 2025.
Seven Seas Entertainment releases both the novel series and manga adaptation in English under the name There’s No Freaking Way I’ll Be Your Lover! Unless. It will release its seventh novel on December 23rd, 2025, and the manga’s seventh volume on June 24th, 2025. Seven Seas Entertainment describes the story below:
