Staff for the Ichijouma Mankitsu Gurashi! (一畳間まんきつ暮らし！) TV anime have released a new teaser trailer which introduces several more characters.

The anime, set to premiere in April 2026, is directed byWatanabe Toshinori at PRA studios.
The anime is an adaptation of Hisamakumako’s Ichijouma Mankitsu Gurashi! manga. Hisamakumako started the manga in December 2018 in Houbunsha’s Manga Time Kirara magazine, and Houbunsha published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in November 2019. The manga’s fourth volume was released in July 2025.
The manga story follows Meiko, a high school girl who is selected as a special transfer student to a prestigious girls’ school in the city! However, in exchange for free tuition, she ends up living and working at a manga cafe that doubles as a student dormitory, alongside some pretty unique residents. Thus begins Meiko’s strange, new life in a packed tatami room!
