The official website of the Wandance TV anime has revealed the main visual and confirmed that the anime will premiere in October 2025.
Katou Michiya is directing the anime at Cyclone Graphics and Madhouse studios, and the anime will star Uchiyama Kouki as Kaboku Kotani and Yomiya Hina as Hikari Wanda. The Wandance anime will be streamed on Disney+.
The anime is based on Coffee’s Wandance street dance manga. Coffee started the manga in January 2019 in Kodansha’s Afternoon magazine, and the manga is also released in Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket app. Kodansha published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in May 2019 and the 13th volume in August 2024.
Kodansha USA Publishing releases the manga in English under the same name, and it will publish the manga’s 12th volume on May 13th, 2025. Kodansha USA describes the manga’s story below:
Kaboku Kotani is starting high school, and he plans to do what he’s always done: go along with his friends, keep quiet, and not to draw too much attention to himself. After all, it’s hard enough to get by with a stutter like his—why make things worse by standing out from the crowd? But then he sees another first-year, Hikari Wanda, dancing like no one is watching—or like she doesn’t care who sees her. It makes Kaboku wonder: Could he reach that same freedom? To find his way to Wanda, he does something he never thought he could: He joins the dance club. After all, every routine begins with a single step, right?
