Yamamoto Hideyo is directing the anime at LINDEN FILMS, and the anime will star Fikuyama Jun as Ryusei Narukami and Sekine Akira as Meteor Hanaori.

The anime is based on the Hanaori-san wa Tensei Shite mo Kenka ga Shitai manga by Hikawa Hekiru. Manga author Hikawa (Pani Poni, Shin Kankaku Iyashi-kei Mahou Shoujo Behoimi-chan) started the manga in August 2021 in Kodansha’s Morning Two magazine, and Kodansha published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in February 2022. The manga’s eighth volume was released in September 2025.

Seven Seas Entertainment will release the manga in English as an omnibus volume under the title Hanaori-san Still Wants to Fight in the Next Life. The first volume will be released on October 27th, 2026. Seven Seas Entertainment describes the story below:
“Narukami Ryusei is your typical NEET. He spends his days shut in his room playing video games without a care in the world, living a lazy life. But the truth is, Ryusei used to be a powerful demon king in another world! So why not spend this new life doing whatever he wants? Except, he wasn’t the only one reincarnated into this world. The hero who struck him down is here too—and she’s a really cute high school girl?! Can Ryusei survive reuniting with his foe in a new world, or will he find himself fighting even in this life?”
