Hakusensha’s Young Animal magazine has confirmed that Fukuda Hiroshi’s Rock wa Lady no Tashinamideshite (Rock is a Lady’s Modesty/ ロックは淑女の嗜みでして) manga will go on hiatus. The news was confirmed in the magazine’s 14th issue of 2025, although there was no clarification on when the manga would resume.
Fukuda (Mushibugyou, Joujuu Senjin!! Mushibugyou) started the manga in October 2022 in Hakusensha’s Young Animal magazine, and Hakusensha published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in April 2023 and the seventh volume in March 2025. The manga’s eighth volume is scheduled for release on August 29th, 2025.
Yen Press will publish the manga’s first volume in English under the name Rock is a Lady’s Modesty, on September 23rd, 2025.
The story follows Lilisa Suzunomia, who becomes the step-daughter of a real estate tycoon, after her mother’s new marriage. To fit in, she has to give up her guitar and love for rock music and act like a wealthy young lady at an all-girls school. But her passion for rock is rekindled when she meets a highly skilled drummer who attends the same all-girls’ school.
The manga was adapted into a 13-episode TV anime, which premiered in Japan in April 2025.
