Publisher and developer Akatsuki Games has released the second trailer for Kaiju No. 8 the Game, which will launch for iOS, Android and PC via Steam. The Kaiju No. 8 the Game is now open for pre-registration.

The game is inspired by the Kaiju No. 8 anime, which premiered in Japan in April 2024. The anime’s second season will premiere in July 2025, and both seasons of the anime will be available for streaming on Crunchyroll.
The anime itself is an adaptation of the Kaiju No. 8 manga by Matsumoto Naoya, which began serialisation in July 2020. Shueisha published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in December 2020 and the 15th volume in March 2025.
Viz Media publishes the manga in English, and it will release the manga’s 13th volume on June 3rd, 2025. It describes the manga’s story below:
Kafka hopes to one day keep his pact with his childhood friend Mina to join the Japan Defence Force and fight by her side. But while she’s out neutralising kaiju as Third Division captain, Kafka is stuck cleaning up the aftermath of her battles. When a sudden rule change makes Kafka eligible for the Defence Force, he decides to try out for the squad once more.
