The anime’s first season was released in October 2023, and the second season in January 2025. The show’s first two seasons and the upcoming third season are directed by Sato Hikaru (Dropkick on My Devil!) at Bilbury Animation Studio. The first two seasons can be streamed on Crunchyroll, and they describe the anime below:
“Rentaro Aijo was rejected 100 times in middle school. He visits a shrine and prays for better luck in high school. The God of Love appears and promises that he’ll soon meet 100 people he’s destined to date. But there’s a catch—once destiny introduces someone to him, the two must happily love each other. If they don’t, they’ll die. What will befall Rentaro and his 100 girlfriends in high school?”
The anime is based on the ongoing Kimi no koto ga Dai Dai Dai Dai Daisuki na 100-nin no Kanojo manga created by Nakamura Rikito and illustrated by Nozawa Yukiko. The manga was launched in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine in December 2019, and Shueisha published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in April 2020 and the 23rd volume in September 2025. The manga’s 24th volume is scheduled for release on December 18th, 2025.
Seven Seas Entertainment releases the manga in English under the name The 100 Girlfriends Who, Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You, and it will release the 16th volume on December 2nd, 2025. Seven Seas Entertainment describes the manga’s story below:
“Aijo Rentaro has asked a hundred girls out and struck out every time. In desperation, he prays for guidance, only to be told by a god that his rejections were due to a cosmic mishap! Now this god will set things right by making sure Aijo gets one hundred dates. Except, as things often go with gods, there’s a catch: each of his one hundred dates is Aijo’s destined soulmate! Worse, if he doesn’t return their feelings, they’ll all die in horrible—and hilarious—accidents!”
