Kadokawa will release the second tankoubon volume of the Fami-res Iko. (Let’s Go to a Family Restaurant/ ファミレス行こ。) manga by Wayama Yama on March 12th, 2026. Kadokawa’s website indicates that the story will end with the second volume of the manga.
The Fami-res Iko manga is a sequel to Wayama’s Karaoke Iko! (Let’s Go Karaoke!/ カラオケ行こ！) manga. Wayama (Onna no Sono no Hoshi, Muchuu sa, Kimi ni) started the original Karaoke Iko! manga as a doujin publication in 2019, and Kadokawa published it as a volume in September 2020. The manga achieved 3rd place in the Manga Taisho awards in 2021.
In May 2021, Wayama started the Fami-res Iko sequel manga in Kadokawa’s Comic Beam, and Kadokawa published the manga’s first volume in December 2023.
Yen Press released the original Karaoke Iko! manga volume in English in May 2022, under the title Let’s Go Karaoke!. It describes the manga story below:
“Nothing worries Satomi Oka more than the upcoming final choir competition of his middle school career — right up until he is accosted by a stranger from the shadows who demands, “Let’s go karaoke!” As a yakuza, Kyouji Narita isn’t scared easily, but a terrifying prospect has driven him to seek Satomi’s help. The boss is holding a karaoke contest, with the loser forced to get a tattoo to be selected and torturously applied by the boss himself! Oka has been to many vocal rehearsals over the years, but never one-on-one karaoke sessions with a gangster!!”
The Karaoke Iko! manga inspired a Japanese live-action film in January 2024 and a TV anime in July 2025. The anime titled Let’s Go Karaoke! has five episodes and can be streamed on the Crunchyroll website.
