The manga is an adaptation of the novel series by Yagiyama Aoi and Hanai Sakichi. Author Yagiyama began the original story in August 2024 on the Shousetsuko ni Narou website, and Futabasha published the first novel, with illustrations by Hanai, in May 2025. The second novel was released in April 2026.
The story follows Julina, who has protected her country by creating a barrier using jewels. One day, however, she is suddenly framed by the king for embezzling jewels and banished from her kingdom. Wandering aimlessly through the forest, Julina encounters and befriends Carbuncle, a legendary sacred beast, while also meeting a group led by Prince Feld of a neighbouring country. After saving them from a monster attack, Julina is invited to Feld’s royal castle… This is the story of Julina’s second life after being betrayed by her country.
