The official Twitter account for Akita Publishing’s Champion Buzz confirmed last week that the manga adaptation of Renkinou’s Chotto Shigoto Yamete Jikka ni Kaeru ~Inaka de Hajimeru Kyuukatsu Slow Life (I’m Taking a Break from Work and Returning Home: Beginning My Slow Life Leisure Activities in the Countryside) web novel would start serialisation on January 8th, 2026. The manga adaptation created by Kabuo is titled Inaka de Hajimeru Kyuukatsu Slow Life.

Renkinou started the original story in November 2018 on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website. The story follows salaryman Tadahiro Yasukuni, who becomes exhausted by his abusive company in Tokyo, where power harassment and working on weekends are the norm. Barely able to sleep or even find time to eat, Tadahiro’s life is wasting away until his mother calls and asks him to return home to the countryside. Encouraged by his mother’s gentle words, he quits his job and begins his slow healing life in the countryside.
