Kadokawa has confirmed that Arai Sumiko’s Ki ni Natteru Hito ga Otoko Janakatta (The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn’t a Guy at All) manga has been green-lit for an anime Adaptation

Arai started the Yuri manga on their Twitter account in April 2022 and began serialising it on pixie Comic in April 2023. Kadokawa published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in April 2023, the second in February 2024 and the third volume on February 20th, 2025.
Yen Press released the manga in English under the name The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn’t a Guy at All, and it published the second volume on February 18th, 2025. It describes the story below:
Fashionable and upbeat high schooler Aya falls head over heels for an employee at a local CD shop. He’s got an air of mystery about him, great style, and impeccable musical taste. Little does she know—this supposedly male employee is actually her female classmate, Mitsuki! Mitsuki generally keeps to herself, but since her seat is right next to Aya’s, she can’t help but be extremely aware of the other’s crush.
