The anime’s first season, directed by Kuraya Ryouichi at Zero-G studios, premiered in January 2023. The anime’s main cast will be returning for season 2, as will most of the production staff at Zero-G studios.
The anime is based on the Isekai Nonbiri Nouka light novel series by Naito Kinosuke. Author Naito started the ongoing story in December 2016 on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website, and Kodokawa published the first novel with illustrations by Yasumo in October 2017. The series’s 19th novel will be released on August 29th, 2025.
The novel series was adapted into a manga by Tsurugi Yasuyuki in October 2017, and Kadokawa published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in March 2018. The manga’s 15th volume is scheduled for release on September 9th, 2025.
One Peace Books publishes the manga adaptation in English under the name Farming Life in Another World, and it describes the manga’s story below:
“After Hiraku dies of a serious illness, God brings him back to life, gives his health and youth back, and sends him to a fantasy world of his choice. In order to enjoy his second shot, God bestows upon him the almighty farming tool! Watch as Hiraku digs, chops, and ploughs in another world in this laidback farming fantasy!”
